Its Dec 10, Ive missed some time recapping the league. So lets get you caught up, give you a preview of this weekend and other information across the NWJHL.
League catch up:
The Huskies lost their first game in regulation time at the hands of the Sexsmith Vipers. The Vipers lead in the game from start to finish while also outshooting the Huskies 33-31.
Generally in the NWJHL by now you should have a good idea who will win each night. This is not the case this year, the league has gotten so much more competitive. If you want the win you need to show up and play 60 minutes for it.
Vipers Sage Joachim & Flyers Eric Dentinger lead the league in points at 38. Points by Defensmen are also tied, with Kings Jeremy Niven and Huskies Brandon Modde at 26 pts each. Huskies goalie Tyler McArthur leads the league with 11 wins while Kings netminder Cam Beson leads with a GAA of 1.54 and a SV% of .944
League Preview Dec 10 weekend:
its a quite weekend for the league with only 4 games on the schedule. The only game Friday night sees the Flyers travel to Fort St. John to take on the Huskies, puck drop is 8pm MST, catch the stream exclusively on Hockey TV. Saturday day all 6 teams are in action, the Kodiaks head to Sexsmith to take on the Vipers. The Navigators will host the Flyers and the Kings will host the Huskies. Again all games to be streamed exclusively on Hockey TV.
League News:
The NWJHL is looking to partner with local and corporate business' to help the league grow and prosper. Opportunities range in size and its best to reach out to your local team if your are interested in becoming a league partner. Exciting years await the NWJHL and with that comes exposure for our players, teams and communities.
The NWJHL has two weekends left before the Holiday break, last games happen on the 19th. If you haven't been to a game yet this year, try and get to one, its a great time, its cost effective and you support local organizations that give back to your community.
