October is over, the first full month of NWJHL hockey is in the books. This past week saw the Huskies go 2-0, the Navigators go 0-2 and the remaining 4 teams all go 1-1.
The Huskies are starting to pull away from the rest of the league, they have an 11 pt lead over the Vipers for first place in the league. The battle for 2nd place and a first round playoff bye is heating up with three teams within a point. Things will look much clearer after November is complete.
November is Hockey Fights Cancer month, many teams will be hosting special games or awareness events including Pink in the Rink. Fort St. John recently hosted their event, while Dawson Creek will be having Pink in the Rink this month.
A sense of normality is setting into the league, dealing with restrictions and obstacles, lets hope we can get through this season in this setting without any additional obstructions.
