This earned them a spot at the Junior B Provincial Championship Tournament which was held in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan. At the conclusion of the tournament the Lumber Barons were crowned the 2026 Alberta Provincial Champions.
This year the league is excited to welcome the Slave Lake Wolves back into the league. Their organization has put together a very enthusiastic board of directors, who have been busy hiring coaching and support staff, reaching out to the community for sponsorship and support as well as all other day to day operations.
The Wolves have announced the hiring of Head Coach Nathan Smith, as well as their Associate Coaches Colter Tkach and Blake Carpenter. Leading the team is General Manager Calvin Beauchamp.
The Dawson Creek Kodiaks this year will have a new look behind the bench as Chad Sutton takes on the role as General Manager and Coach, after longtime NWJHL Coach and General Manager Colby Wagar moved onto a new role with the Quesnel River Rush Hockey Club.
